No error message when Quake fails to load

If I run an app (BoxedWine) which assigns certain things to window, then I run Quake 3, it will fail to load, but not tell the user they just need to refresh.

Ideally tell the user Quake failed to load (maybe any app like this), as an ErrorBoundry
