@leifliddy Congrats to getting it to work, but I believe you closed the bug in the kernel Bugzilla too early, as this isn't fixed in the kernel yet, isn't it?...
Any updates regarding this issue? What's the status with recent kernel versions? Did it get fixed upstream?

As you've narrowed down the problem a bit now: Have you considered opening an issue in the kernel bugzilla, so that hopefully somebody with more knowledge of the USB stack...

I dug into this issue a bit and to me it seems that CTRL+x is working fine on non-Apple hardware starting with GRUB 2.02~beta3, thanks to commit [9e5f701](https://salsa.debian.org/grub-team/grub/commit/9e5f70174ec960a0077f20bb74cb9f4da9b57e7b). Apparently before...
