📚 Getting Started

To get a local copy up and running follow these simple steps.

👇🏽 Prerequisites

Before installation, please make sure you have already installed the following tools:

• Git
• NodeJs

🛠️ Installation

1. Fork the project. Click on the fork icon in the top right to get started

2. Clone the project, you can use the following command:

   git clone https://github.com/<your-github-username>/anon-chat-app
   

3. Navigate to the project directory

   cd anon-chat-app
   

4. Navigate to client(frontend) folder

   cd client
   

5. Navigate to server(backend) folder

   cd server
   

6. Install dependencies with npm install in both client and server folder

   npm install
   

7. Use .env_sample to configure the .env file for this project. For mongodb url use the localhost to test

8. Run npm start in both folders also

   npm start
   

Both ends of the project rely on each other, for you to work on any end(client or server) they both need to be started with npm start
