I do like the tvg-id part but what's wrong with local naming?
I believe official local namings is what language-speaking viewers expect and what's fine for now. My other thoughts go way over current implementation.

Wasn't that always the case? If you like really reimplement tvg-id you have to manually replace it in epg and playlists. At some point we had 450+ warnings of misssleading...
Latest adoptopenjdk 15 jre installed from official repo works on the same machine. It's possible that the build you forked atm was broken
