Alternative 4th level for the Footpad line with mace and sling

Wanted to propose and discuss, maybe we can add any kind of the alternative 4th level to Footpad? The current one is nice and I don't want it to be removed or changed. But it has a not so nice property of changing weapons entirely (staff instead of mace/sling). So maybe we can add another one that keeps them?

If I recall correctly, there used to be a unit called Renegade that worked as a L4 Footpad, but it was a bland bigger and mildly stronger upgrade with no interesting properties. I replaced him with Shadow Prince later.

At this point, I can't really bring Renegade back because it was about 10 years ago and I can't find the assets anymore (I wasn't using github then nor did I have a folder for potentially useful assets).

If there was to be a new Renegade, it would have to be something with some markable improvement over the Fugitive and distinct of Shadow Prince and Blackguard, but I don't have any good ideas right now. Maybe some ability to teleport between villages?

Assets, I believe, are not lost actually, there are addon servers repositories for older Wesnoth versions, and in LotI for 1.8 I've found some renegade sprites http://files.wesnoth.org/addons/1.8/Legend_of_the_Invincibles.tar.bz2

Y, I agree some more interesting abilities has to be there, I'll think about them and probably ask my friends if they have any ideas. Right now I can only think about any kind of AoE damage for sling

Thanks, I totally forgot that I could look at old add-on servers.

I pondered a bit about sling AoE, but I decided against that idea because Shadow Prince already has ranged impact AoE.

I once made level 4 Wose for my addon, and added a funky ability "forest skirmisher" (added a forest terrain filter in the skirmisher ability, and it actually works pretty reasonably). If adding teleport, maybe we can add "village skirmisher", it could work quite nice as ZoC may often mess up with teleport in a sense. And add an AMLA to upgrade to full skirmisher
