Incendiary reports it will give experience, but it does not seem to be doing so

The incinerate weapon effect is described in the help as giving XP to the one that inflicted it if the unit dies. It does not seem to grant XP however. I'm attaching 2 save games, one before and one after a unit dies. Efraim's XP goes up only 1 in the turn (for being attacked by a mage without killing it), but does not get the kill XP from the incinerate kill.
