iOS app
This would be a huge win, primarily so we can let folks connect their Apple Music account.
I have a prototype of an iOS app functional using Turbolinks-iOS. I hope to have something worth sharing in the next few days.
@danielwestendorf That's fantastic! Let me know if you need anything from me.
@Shpigford I'll be sending up a PR shortly with the basic changes needed to support Turbolinks-iOS and Turbolinks-Android.
Right now, with my changes, I have an iOS app capable of authenticating with twitter, navigating around, and signing out. I haven't gotten as far as getting actual audio/video playback yet, mostly due to dev env setup requirements for spotify & apple music. I'm hoping these may just work.
Duplicating for Android should be relatively trivial once we sort out most of the low-hurdle challenges.
From a UX perspective, the UI may need some tweaking to make sense with the UINavigationController
tree-like navigation structure.
We may want to discuss branding/icons/launchscreen/publishing/whatever as well. I plan to open source the Apps as of now.
Sounds great. In reality, to actually promote the iOS/Android apps, we'd want them to be under the DroptuneHQ account here, but I totally understand if you'd rather not do that.
However, if you're game for that, happy to get it set up.
I'm game for that, for sure.
@danielwestendorf Great! What's the easiest way for you to do that? Just transfer the repo to me and I'll put it inside the "DroptuneHQ" team? Or create a new repo and just add you as a team member? Something else?
I tried to transfer the repo to DroptuneHQ, but I got an error message saying I don't have permission to create a public repo.
Since there isn't a lot of content other than a few issues, let's just create a new repo and add me as a team member.
@danielwestendorf Perfect. Just created the repo and added you to it.
