I also selected AU components.... and I don't know about the UI which initially (not got for) seems to assume all plugins are in one place ... /Library/ etc but due to the insanity of some music software developers, software always ends up in /Shared/ etc ~/Library/Audio etc and even maybe other places... Anyway. Nice idea.

Do you have an active license for BBC Symphony Orchestra ? Can you load it your DAW without issue ?
Sometimes, DRM are messing up with plugin host and OwlPlug.
In the Options tab, you can also try to switch Native Discovery from OwlPlug JNI to OwlPlug Scanner, it should be more tolerant to plugin crashes.You can find more info in the documentation regarding differenties between the 2 scan mode.
Yes I can load it... it's a free VST.... or was when I got it. Does this below help at all?
