[BUG] It is not apparent that clicking the icon shows the app id

Open opk12 opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug There should be a hint in the GUI that clicking the icon shows the app id (new behavior since 89f8e3). Reason is that a new user couldn't discover by herself, and I forgot this peculiar behavior, because life, so I'd save myself yet another GitHub issue search and "aa yea" moment.

Alternatively, just do the natural thing and show it below the links or the details. In Google Play, the id is intended to be visible to the non-technical end user as part of the URL, as a security feature, so I can't explain these efforts to remove or hide the id.

OMG! :astonished: i thought several times about opening a bug report, because for apps with a developer name in the metadata, no app id gets shown. most of the times i could work around it by using the button for the app-info (and get the app id from there)... but when the app isn't installed, it seemed to me that there is no way in Droid-ify to get an app id. therefore i still used an other fdroid-client.

although whether the app id should be shown as default (or elsewhere at first sight) may be the base for a never ending discussion, but not indicating in any way, that there is more information hidden or at least showing/mentioning this somewhere, is a bug IMHO.

PS: every now and then this is a real issue because there are apps with different flavors, which are only distinguishable by the app id! activate fdroids and izzys repo, search for "KeepassDX" and here you are... two seemingly identical apps. - this also happens also for some apps in the same repo... KeepassDX is just an example i stumbled across yesterday.
