[BUG] Ignore signature verification doesn't work
If you go to settings, scroll almost on the very bottom and toggle "Ignore signature verification" won't work. If you try to install / update the same app from other source / repo it won't install. I've just tried update Shelter initially installed from F-droid to Shelter from dev repo - it didn't work, app wasn't updated. That happened many times before to another apps, when tried to update apps present on IzzyOnDroid but not present yet in F-droid, which is known about "delays" in publishing made due to app verification.
Any fix for that?
Here the info from the app Notifications Recovery.
That check is done by the operating system to ensure that the installed app and the update are signed by the same person. It cannot be bypassed except by modifying a part of the system if you have root access. This specific check has been there for a long time; it is said that even ADB or Shizuku cannot bypass it.
Any fix for that?
Uninstall the app installed from one source and install the version from the other source if you trust the new signature, and after doing that, always update from the new source.
Thx for explanation, I'm afraid I can't uninstall, because configuring it from scratch would be too much. Besides, I got in touch with Shelter's dev and he states that no further update present in his repo would fix my issues, so... There is no point really.
