After launching firefox in Ubuntu, simple-tab-group icon remains white and does not load saved tab groups

Describe de bug After launching Firefox in Ubuntu, simple-tab-group icon remains white and does not load saved tab groups. If I click on the icon, it shows a small white window with a spinning wheel in the middle. This can last forever and does not load saved groups.

The only solution I have found is right-click > Manage Extension > Disable extension and Enable extension. At this point, Firefox shows the following message (with two options at the end): "Access your hidden tabs An extension, Simple Tab Groups, is hiding some of your tabs, You can still access all of your tabs from (down arrow). Disable extension Keep Tabs Hidden"

I choose "Keep Tabs Hidden" and extension starts working as usual. Extension icon changes to half-white half-colored.

To reproduce Just start firefox in Ubuntu

Expected behavior Extension should work normally once Firefox is launched (should load the menu that shows all previously saved tab groups)

I am also getting this issue. Icons going to default when not loaded and normal when loaded. Relaunching the browser and relaunching works most (albeit not all) of the time.

I have the same issue, both Windows 11 and Ubuntu. Group names are loaded with blank icon and 0 tabs count. Workarounds that I have found are:

  • relaunch browser (does not always work)
  • restore tabs from backup

In both cases when restoring tabs the "Keep Tabs Hidden" popup appears and groups are fully restored (icons and tabs)

I get this issue on Windows 10, each time Firefox Updates. Currently on Firefox 104.0.1, but has happen on each Firefox update. Relaunching the browser worked to restore the add-on.

Same issue here, it does not load the tab groups, and instead stays in the default 3x3 block icon state. When clicked, it opens up a thin white line. Going into extension settings shows that debug mode has been enabled. Disabling debug mode saves a debug log. Restarting the browser and waiting ~1-2 minutes restores the groups. However, the issue persists every single time I open Firefox after a fresh OS boot.

Firefox 104.0.2 (happened on Firefox v90+, and maybe even before that) STG 4.7.2.1 Windows 10 21H2

I have created a new FF profile, installed the same extensions, imported all the preferences and for a while (~2 weeks) everything worked with a few minor exceptions

  • Tabs were loaded in the correct groups but the "current tab" was not in one of the groups it should have been but in the "other tabs"
  • The "Keep Tabs Hidden" kept appearing everytime I started FF

Now it stopped working properly again and I'm back to the "restore tabs from backup" workaround. FF 106.0.5 (64 bit) STG 4.7.2.1 Windows 11 22H2
