open tabgroup in new window
Is there a possibility to always open tabgroups in a new window? would hate to open a new window everytime i want to load my tabgroups...
thanks for the add-on, otherwise i really like it!
This is essential!
Right now there is also a significant bug related to opening tab groups in the existing window— if you have tabs in them, they disappear! They become sort of ghost tabs— they show up as an open tab if you search for them…
And if you select one it pops back up where it was!!
I came here to request this, too.
I'd not noticed that it was an issue, but I'm willing to bet the ghost tab thing is maybe what's making my previously contained FireFox Multi-Account Containers tabs re-open outside of the intended container.
Anyway, yes, I'm hoping that this is one that isn't a big ask, because it's already an option in the context menu. It would just be nice to have it as an option for the default tap of a tab group.
Bump
Firstly, great extension. The containers integration is very handy for multitasking.
Would really love to be able to have each tab group open in its own window. I prefer each tab group to be in its own window to optimise my multitasking workflow. Each window has a distinct purpose and all windows and tabs need to be open at the same time.
Currently the way I achieve this is by manually opening a new window to my personal website (to facilitate the use of extension keyboard shortcuts). Then I use a keyboard shortcut to open a custom tab. I have to repeat these steps for each tab group I want to open in a new window. It would be great if the keyboard shortcut would just open the tab group in a new window for me.
Thanks
@camslice ... I think that you should first take a look at whether Simple Tab Groups (STG) in Multi-Account Containers (MAC) are actually always opening in them, mate.
It's looking very broken to me right now: https://github.com/Drive4ik/simple-tab-groups/issues/990
Otherwise, yeah, totally agree that this add-on is invaluable. I just cannot use it in a personal context due to the data-leaks everywhere from the MAC. For a work context, that's lessened, as I'm artificially more restricted there anyway, but it's a different kind of security worry there, I'd say.
Thanks @influential-eliot , I haven't noticed what you've described in #990 as yet, but I've only just starting using this extension so time will tell...
