All sorted Tabs in a group moved to unsorted "Other Tabs"

Could this be because I had too many tabs ?

I had the same problem. I think it happened when I closed Firefox while the tabs were not totally loaded. The tabs were all gone. When I tried to restore them, they were all unsorted.

This happens when

  1. I open File->New Window or File->New Private Window
  2. Close Main Window first with opened group
  3. And then New Window with no group

Result:

  1. All pinned tabs are lost,
  2. All opened tabs in New Window from last session goto Other tabs
  3. All tabs from open group in Main Window lost their sorted order

I have similar problem. Basically, the STG does not fulfill its function when Firefox is restarted. Most of the tabs from different groups are moved to the first group. I would like to highlight the modifier "most of". Strangely, not all of them. As far as I can tell, tabs from the last session are not remembered. But I was not able to find an exact pattern.

That is perplexing because I use STG extension also on my home PC and it works flawlessly for years there.

This is a new, managed notebook with W10 21H1, clean install of Firefox 89.0, minimum amount of extensions.

See the problem in the following pictures.

Here is a list of my groups with their tabs. The groups Tipo2, WT1000 and Epic eProcurement login are those that were somewhat miraculously remembered after last Firefox restart.

STG-list

The same list shown in Manage Groups view. STG-manage

Notice that there is just single normal Firefox window (no private neither any additional windows). When I restart Firefox, this is what happens. First, list of my groups with their tabs after restart. Notice that Tipo2, WT1000 and Epic eProcurement login groups stayed the same. However, General group was merged to DSSI Knowledgebase. And the same list in Manage Groups view. STG-manage-after-restart

To be sure, I do have "Restore previous session" checked in Firefox settings. STG-firefox-settings

This is list of my extensions STG-firefox-Extensions

Is there anything I could do? I have tried to reset the extension, uninstall and then install again but the behavior did not change.

Is this problem with the latest version of the addon?

I still have this problem, I think.
