[Feature Request] Option to close "Manage groups" Tab after selecting a tab

Thanks for this wonderful extension! I just migrated over from the (more or less) unmaintained panorama view by photodiode and so far love what you achieved - i hardly recognize it compared to a few years ago when i last tried all the tabgroup-addons 👍

One thing that kind of bothers me coming from the "classic" panorama-workflow - where this overview is the main way to switch between groups - is that the "Manage Groups" tab stays opened after switching to a tab from there. At first i was "confused" that the other tabs weren´t hidden when the overview is opened (like i was used to from panorama), but i don´t really think that that is a big issue. It introduced a slight delay when opening the overview on panorama view anyway.

But having an option to close the overview-tab after selecting a tab would be appreciated :)

Thank you! You can disable opens "Manage groups" as tab and it will open in new window and hide (close) after selecting tab to open.

Ah ok - tried that and was immediately put off by it being a separate window, but as it closes itself and remembers the last size this seems to be a usable alternative. I'll give it a try and will close the issue in the next days if i don't encounter any big blockers :)

So i've now tried using it that way and unfortunately, it's not really a convincing option :/

The main issues i have:

• on my main PC (Arch Linux, KDE Wayland), there is a 1-2s delay between selecting a tab (and the manage groups window closing) and the browser actually switching to the tab. This also happens with a fresh profile, regardless of number of tabs and even with zen browser on flatpak instead of native Firefox (i thought it might be related to apparmor despite not showing anything in the logs...) I'm kind of out of ideas on what might cause that. This does NOT happen when using Manage Group as a tab or when selecting a tab from the addon-flyout or the sidebar.
• On my work laptop (Windows 11 unfortunately), it doesn't always remember the size of the Manage Groups window (especially after changing monitors) and the Window doesn't offer doubleclick-to-maximize or drag to top of screen to maximize (those work on Linux though), but has to be dragged by the corner
• on all PCs, there is a noticeable delay in opening the window compared to opening it in a tab. This doesn't make it unusable, but is a far less smooth experience.

So all in all, i'd still really appreciate the option to use it in a tab, but close it on switching - if it isn't too much of a headache/effort of course :)

I just tested and the Manage Groups tab closes after selecting a tab in it. This only happens if a tab from another group is selected.

You're right, when switching between groups, it shows my desired behavior. Didn't really notice that because my (kind of ugly) workaround was/is to pin the "Manage Groups" tab. Without knowing much about about the codebase or JS in general i would assume that in this case it should probably be just some kind of conditional that is behaving differently when switching inside the active group?
