Wayfire might end up not working out for me, as it currently doesn't work on Manjaro and I don't want to rely on something that might not work sometimes. (Also DP2 to-do list)
Instead, I'll probably end up going with the QmlWaylandCompositor and stealing some code from LiriOS (with proper attribution and copyrights, of course), mainly their QML implementation of layer-shell-qt (here's the compositor, which features using LayerShell clients: https://github.com/lirios/shell/blob/1ff00c854350d722e6d9ec464b14c36975c3f3cb/src/compositor/qml/Compositor.qml). I might work a little more on the compositor and try to implement the Action Center into a pull-down area (but still in its own process), then create a DP2 release (along with a few other changes, like adding icons; scrollbar in All Apps; and if I feel like it, changeable accent colors [light mode will take more effort]) for people to play around with. After that, I'll try to use the layer-shell-qt thing to get stuff more usable. I need to also integrate the QML keyboard into the compositor so people can type things with a software keyboard and not have to use the keyboard case all the time. Rotation shortcuts (Ctrl+Alt+Left, Ctrl+Alt+Right, etc.) will also be necessary for now until autorotation is available. I need to make this issue into a proper to-do list for DP2.
Things are going to be really bumpy for a little while here, but things can't be finished immediately.
