Note to developers: You may be able to do the block identity by having the mod disguise you as a minecraft:falling_block entity, whose BlockState tag depends on the block that you want to disguise yourself as.

They've definitely got a modified version of Identity - standard version only supports living entities, and you can see a custom inventory in the video. That being said, I think this is a hilarious idea, so I will consider making some sort of extension pack to allow this functionality in the future.
