New RPI installation crashes completely with RASPBERRY PI OS LITE

I've tried setting up a "stable" RPi system multiple times with multiple CPUs...

By the time I edit "/etc/rc.local" and re-boot, "backlight_dimmer" crashes consistently half-way when booting up, with no way to fix this.

Basically my microSD card is corrupted, and all I can do is re-install RPi again and again, with same outcome.
