[Bug] `.mailmap` is not respected in the history list

Although the author selector's content is correct, the history list is not using the assigned name in .mailmap:

I'd like to add a vote for this. As a trans person who's gone through a name change, I find the Git mailmap great to transparently map my old name/email to my new one. Only problem is when programs built on top of Git don't support mailmap, then it's all for naught. Please fix this!
