[BUG] Drifting weirdly enough will slingshot car backwards

Does not happen in reverse (or rear wheel steer vehicles?)

If this gets shifted to blaze image

core MTS problem, not a problem cause by my drift PR It just so happens that the PR makes the issue stand out, previously covered up by MTS vehicles steering slow-ish, and MTS' floaty feeling driving physics

Occurs as of whatever version the github source thing is. Won't tell me when I download it as it seems to reset to v1

Also i think vehicles without downforce might even do it although I'm having trouble doing so due to the... lack of downforce

boot2big avatar Jul 01 '21 04:07 boot2big

Odd. Though if you're not building via the buildscript task that could be part of it. That being said, if someone does manage to make a vehicle spin quickly around, then it is indeed possible for them to do that. What about that 3.0 overSteer? You might be turning too fast for MTS to handle.

Im pretty sure it isn't oversteer at all

wait what the hell it's (oversteer) not even supposed to be spinning at low speed

BlazeWolf1122 avatar Jul 01 '21 04:07 BlazeWolf1122

As Don and Blaze should know, the scout has no oversteer or downforce

Did not know github updates messages and stuff this quickly, it's just like Discord but without the annoying nitro stuff or the half functional servers or the salt Oooooo one of you probably saw this pop up

Anyways, oversteer 3 means it steers into the turn slightly more, but as seen that doesn't matter considering the Scout has a default oversteer of 0 as well as a default downforce of 0 if it had -3 oversteer (or 3 understeer) it would steer less into the turn I guess

Odd question: does this happen on V19?

DonBruce64 avatar Jul 01 '21 04:07 DonBruce64

Probably, I recall it happening a few times before, but never remembered to ticket it. In fact, I remember it happening on the first release of V19 dunno how i didnt remember considering when i first discovered it but here it is now ig

This looks to be a deep-rooted physics issue then. These SUCK to suss out, and usually take a while. Going to have to mark this as a backburner item because it'll take me a while to get to a point where I can fix it. Need to do some rendering internal changes post V20 to ensure IV can update to higher MC versions, and that'll take me down for a bit.
