3D printer Marcus sticking

Open JackiePease opened this issue 5 months ago • 2 comments

I've been trying to print the top for a marudai (disk 250mm diameter). I've tried twice - the first time it started making a graunching noise and misaligning layers after about 10mm, the second time it happened after about 4 layers.

I cleared the space around the printer after the first time it happened, in case there was anything stopping the printer bed moving.

I've checked that the filament can move freely and doesn't appear to be tangled.

I don't think the printer has been lubricated as in #1937. It also seems possible that something is out of place following the board replacement. I'm happy to help if anyone else wants to try and diagnose.

I had some printing to do, so figured I'd use Marcus to get more testing on it.

Print seemed fine at first, but when I got in this morning it had slipped a number of times on the y-axis. I tried kicking off a slightly smaller (but still ~10cm long on the y-axis) print, but it's failing to home at the moment.

The x-axis homes fine, but there's no movement at all on the y-axis. I haven't had time to dig into it further yet.

I looked at this with @magman2112 and the bearings for the y axis are in need of a good clean / replacement.
