Get our ducks in a row for the AV system in the Events Room
@geclypod and I have been looking at the AV setup in the Events Room. We've tidied the cables and set up the speakers, computer (/3.5mm stereo jack) input, and 2 microphones to all work.
To keep the cabling tidier, we think we should coil the microphone and computer cables and leave them hooked over a hook. We thought the ducks we've got for the ear defenders outside the CNC room would be good options for that (issue #790 has a link to the file)
I've kicked off a print of a blue duck (we figured we'd want blue, red, and yellow for the blue and red microphones and the computer cable - using yellow means we can shuffle things along one with a new duck if we get the yellow microphone fixed).
Used Prints Adam so we can see how well it's working as part of a test for #1923 before we use the rest of the filament for that; I've pushed the print to one side of the bed so we can see if it's the edges of the bed where the belt is worn (if it is that). There's a similar right_duck_hanger.gcode on the SD card so we can try the other side of the bed for the next one.
Blue duck printed. Red duck on the printer.
Red duck printed. Yellow duck on the printer.
@magman2112 fitted three of the ducks (we've not printed a fourth yet) to the wall today. The screws are in the wall to hang the fourth one on once it's printed.
@Robotorium is going to adapt a mic holder she's already got so we've got somewhere to hang the mic next to each duck (@RussCoty and I did a trial run of just using the duck the other week and they're good for the cable loops, but the mics themselves are too heavy, so will need a separate holder)
I've put the mic holder that @Robotorium designed somewhere-safe, and we've printed three of them out (in the right colours).
A fourth duck was printed and installed a while back, although it would be useful to move it a bit higher.
The mic hooks are all on the AV cabinet awaiting some screws in the wall to hang them on.
Gave an update on this in the community meeting, remaining tasks are:
- Fasten the mic hooks to the wall
- Add the instructions for setting things up to the wiki (in addition to the printed out version that's already stuck on the mixer cabinet), @geclypod said he'll do that.
