The rat looks to have been in over Christmas, and had a lovely festive dinner of loads of crisps.
There are what appear to be mouse droppings in the corner. I spoke to Irene who says others have had issues. She is unwell at the moment but hoping to come in Saturday am. She will aim to clean twice weekly rather than having less regular "big cleans". @DoESsean is getting traps and bleach.
Floor's been bleached, traps have been ordered. They essentially look like habitrails, whoever it is will love them.
Jake and I caught a mouse and released it into the street. We bought some marigolds to use for the purpose and used the rear fire escape.
That's really good, but just FYI they will probably just come straight back. They need to be released further out, at least a mile away (I did mention this in the organisers' chat).
They have a really strong homing instinct, and if they're close by they'll just turn around and find the same holes back in.

We did take that into account, but didn't have a way to get a mile away with it without putting the mouse through a lot more stress. Just have to hope it doesn't.

@epsaul saw a mouse scuttling off under the v large Epson printer in the main space. I've moved one of the mousetraps round to there.
The mousetrap by the large Epson printer had caught a mouse. Not sure when, but the mouse inside had died. I've disposed of it and disinfected the trap - it's drying on the rack of the "workshop" sink, so once it's dry we can redeploy it.
Could we attach some sort of sensors to the mouse traps to see if there are mice in them and alert us?
I've moved one of the mousetraps to by Simon's desk as @Knottyashcreative says he saw a mouse around there last night. Please check for trapped mice, especially if you can see that the door close has been triggered.

Neil was in Room 29, sorting through the crisps from under Simon's desk, when a mouse jumped out of the bag. We've put a trap by Tom's desk, baited with cheese puffs.
Advise everyone to not keep food around their desks and to only dispose of food waste in the kitchen bin if possible.
Closing this as Jennie organised pest control for the building, and we haven't seen any evidence of mice for a while.
