Bug: Remote timelines have problems
When viewing a remote timeline the posts appear without a bar at the bottom with the Like, Reply, Boost etc action buttons as is the case with any other timeline.
If the user selects a particular post and clicks on it then a new page is opened and the action buttons become visible.
Also, if one clicks on the icon of the account of a particular post a new page is opened but the details of the account are not complete, as in the example below.
I also faced the same problem on the mobile app. The circle on the left is loading infintely and when clicking any post in the timeline I get a similar error message.
Thank you for adding this, @paspro ! I may have overlooked it, but I don't think you mentioned that when you click on the avatar icon, there is no Follow button. After finding someone you'd like to follow on a Remote Local Timeline, you must go to the search tab and search for them before you can follow. The lack of a Follow button is demonstrated in your third screenshot.
I have a story following some logic I'd like to share. Please bear with me.
I have dice.camp set up as a Remote Local Timeline. When I view dice.camp's timeline and click on a poster's avatar,
- Posts cannot load.
- There is no Follow button.
- The account name appears without the server part. See "@jfayre" as opposed to "@[email protected]" in the third screenshot above.
But if I switch over to the Search tab and type in a search for the user, when Ice Cubes generates the details view, the posts and Follow button appear.
Finally, muting doesn't work in the Remote Local Timeline.
All this leads me to wonder if Ice Cubes is either (a) stripping off or (b) failing to append the server part when dealing with Remote Local Timelines. That is, when loading the posts, Ice Cubes treats @[email protected] as just @user, so muting fails; and when I tap on the avatar, it's trying to look up posts by @user and see if @user can be followed, both of which fail because of the incomplete address.
@Dimillian I really really hope muting can be made to work on Remote Local Timelines. Should I open a separate issue for that or do you think it will be addressed with this issue?
Version 1.5.5 fixes the timeline problem. But errors still occur when trying to like a toot/go to the details page of a toot.
