Yes, it works fine with the vista50p. The 50p also supports polling loops which are not directly accessible by the esp code but the zone statuses will still be accessible...
Vista's do not report closing to the display that I know of. Perhaps you can post logs of your panel messsages and we can see if yours is reporting different...
