Switchable cosmetics

Open LoopStation opened this issue 1 year ago • 10 comments

The cosmetics may be something special for some players, but there are also players who have problems with such effects, whether they are colorblind and cannot recognize text due to the effects, or they have epilepsy and are triggered by these, in my opinion, unnecessary background effects.

Therefore, an option is needed that gives those of us affected the opportunity to turn off all these cosmetic effects.

Please some more information like what effects are causing issues because I actually don't see any of them that should cause an issue also turning off the animation whould be ok imo but completely disabling them is probably not going to go well with most ppl tell us which are causing issues sdex can prob adjust them specifically for disabilities

No effect causes problems, please just read my text properly.

There are people who get seizures from such effects because they have epilepsy. Other people may be colorblind and can't read ANYTHING because of all these animated background effects.

That's why I think you should be able to turn them off in the options.

As this doesn't affect all players but only those who turn these effects off in their options, it shouldn't be a problem.

Note: none of the effects should cause issues with epilepsy

Also the worst that exists is a pulsing bar my dear troll that's not causing epilepsy to trigger by any stretch of the imagination for colorblindness that's an so broad spectrum you can't optimize for it

lag145 avatar Oct 29 '24 06:10 lag145

Oh also colorblindness doesn't cause you to be unable to read anything because of a goddamnt pulsing chat effect @DexterHuang close this and make an option to disable animations

you know what i wish you? i wish you that you are colorblind and that you have epilepsie then we talk again. I CANT SEE IN THE DUNGEONS THIS COLOR GAMES because im Colorblind. So dont try to tell me it is not needed. and ask my wife she have epilepsie she have end the game after 5 minutes because this stupid animations are a gigantic trigger for her.

btw why you think you have something to say you just a user and not the creator. im out of the game and i stop my abo directly thats not the right way to get new customers who pay money.

Note: dungeons don't have skins disabling animations is fair but already exists as far as I know and I really doubt that epilepsy triggers that easily

lag145 avatar Oct 29 '24 11:10 lag145

Also if your wife is that epileptic I'm really sorry for her but 99.9% of modern life is most likely inaccessible for her as a goddamned pulse isn't considered an trigger

lag145 avatar Oct 29 '24 11:10 lag145

Oh also if you're gray-white color blind I gotta tell you one thing that (to my knowledge) doesn't exist because that would mean that all your receptors have stopped working even the grayscale ones

@lag145 epilepsy isn't the same as color blind it's sensitive to blinking lights, currently the blinking is rather minimal, only a fraction of second when chat appears, and the text doesn't actually blink at all, the back ground only scrolls, doesn't blink. @LoopStation i totally understands the issue your wife is having now, while it is tricky to change existing behavior of paid cosmetics as it can affect the players who have gotten it, I will be thinking of some way to mitigate this, meanwhile, I will be locking this thread, if you wish we can discuss in private about the specifics of the issue, just email me at [email protected]
