JavaScript Proficiency question doesnt make sense
you could indeed: Architecturing entire front-end codebases from scratch or Handle advanced front-end patterns (state management, data loading, etc.) without knowing or touching any REACT, VUE etc... React is a library of JS NOT JS itself, in the same way that jquery wasn't the whole of JS ten years ago.
Sorry I'm not sure I understand? Is what you object to this line?
Working on existing front-end codebases using modern frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
I would assume anybody who considers themselves proficient in JavaScript would feel comfortable using React or Vue if they need to, even if they prefer going framework-less? So I don't really see the contradiction?
I guess i see your point but disagree. The overhead in learning a new framework is considerable, the time sink. So though I don't think I would have a problem with learning either, I don't because of the time and effort to do so, because I see them going the way of Backbone.js in a few years :) so in your question the React Vue bit in the middle would come out and be a secondary question which involves other frameworks but has little to do with js code knowledge itself like the other options do.
How would you word the question? Should we just ask people to rate themselves from 1 to 5 instead?
I guess you could make it check boxes instead so they can check more than one, or just make it two questions, one about coding in js, and one about js frameworks.
