Middle mouse click on link activates "autoscrolling"

OS: Mac OSX 10.15 Browser: Firefox 84

What should happen? User clicks on a link using middle mouse button -> link opens in new tab

What happens instead? Link does open in new tab, but it also activates the autoscroll widget. Autoscroll usually activates when you middle mouse click on a page, as long as it's not a link below the cursor.
