TL Entry System
For TL Entry, one can scan the QR Code in Tinkerers' Lab using Insti App. Then a form appears in which that guy can fill in the reason for coming to TL and Machines to be used(if any).
Although I like the idea of using InstiApp for TL entry, this system of scanning a QR code that redirects to a form can be implemented without InstiApp with just a Google form and any QR code reader app.
We already have a google form on a PC in tl, where students can fill it. But the main problem in that system is that people have to fill that long form again and again (because we need a lot of details of students like roll no., Department, etc). Since in insti app people would have already logged in they just have to fill in the reason, which will make their work easier.
Also, we are planning to make tech profiles for students which will contain all the skills that he knows and the projects he did. Then we will link that with the entry system so that the technician can know whether that person know how to operate that machine(at the very moment that guy scans the QR code) thus reducing the accidents and saving user and machines. Moreover, it will be helpful in estimating the frequency of bootcamps for that machine and the no. of machines required.
This sounds promising. If you're using the app though, there is no requirement of a QR code since the form can be built into the TL page (you might still want to create a QR code to link to the page though).
Actually we want people to fill that form at the time they enter TL. If we don't put a qr code we cannot ensure that people are filling the form. Otherwise we would have put that in our Website itself. Also, if there is problem in putting TL Entry form in the Nav bar we can also put it in Quick links.
