The only pick-ups I found were speed, 1 missile pack, screw attack and morph ball, so I couldn't check post-gauntlet minor locations, any power-requiring locations, and couldn't get out of pink brinstar or toward wrecked ship.

I had no trouble with this seed. Got all of the items. Yes, there are Super Missiles. They are where they usually are, in the first room on the right in the Green Brinstar entrance shaft. You can either use Speed Booster or mockball to get them. You should move over to itemrando by tewtal, which is a progression of this randomizer.
