How many AA batteries

How many AA batteries this button takes? Is 3 AA batteries needed, as with 2 AA batteries one can only have 3V and this is insufficient for powering ESP-012?

It works starting from 2,5V so two AA batteries will be fine. 3xAA will reach 4,5V which will proably damage the ESP-12 which only accepts up to 3,6V.
