[BUG] Recent Games Update Failure
Describe the bug Migrated to new computer. Backed up the Depressurizer AppData files and loaded the newest app version. Everything scrapes fine. Looks okay in the program. In Steam however, while nearly everything is categorised fine, games I have added to Steam since a certain point in time fail to update to Steam's database. Like I said, they look like they're categorised fine in the app. This totals to close to one hundred games that just will not update, including major titles such as the Far Cry games. I've tried deleting the database cache files in Steam's data. As expected, upon restart the categories are a blank slate. Loaded up Depressurizer again, restored the categories. Upon another Steam restart yet again the exact same problem is still there.
Desktop (please complete the following information):
- OS: Windows 10 x64
- Version 10.0.19041
- .NET Version: Various up to v4.0.30319
Update: I tried wiping my collections to see if that would rectify it. All the collections are gone but it seems that the problem is that Depressurizer is simply completely failing to update Steam at all, despite it looking A-OK in the program. Even when I manually replace the VDF files it does nothing at all. Help would be appreciated.
Have you ever ran the flushconfig command? Because that can cause this issue. Also did you ever have custom steam library locations? If yes then make sure the client has them still in the settings.
I've never tried that command, and yes, I have several library locations across my NAS drives. I hope that helps with identifying the issue, but fortunately I can report that "steam://resetcollections" fixed the problem! 👍 The drives were still there after the reset.
Got an update. While it worked with the reset command, when I made some changes via Depressurizer it did save the changes to the file but the changes again didn't display in Steam. And again I tried the reset command which fixed it once more. So basically, it'll work as long as I do that every time.
I'm glad you seen the comment about reset collections haha. I deleted that when I went over your issue again and thought it was unrelated for some reason. I myself run resetcollections after every Categorization.
