Select several expenses to see a sum of them and allow multi expene actions
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When I look at my list of recurring expenses with their monthly expense written on them (the home screen in the app), I would like to be able to see what I spend in total per month on a specific type of expense, or on expenses I might think of cutting.
Describe the solution you'd like
I intuitively tried to hold the finger on one expense to select several, hoping a sum would appear. But nothing happened; I couldn't select. It would be cool if that worked.
Describe alternatives you've considered, if any
None.

@jhertel thanks for the idea. Do you think this should be a separate feature next to seeing the sum of the expeses for a group? See: #364

Yes, I thought about the categories/groups (which would also be cool to have), but my use case was to just sit and play a bit with the expenses to figure out how much I use for specific things where I might not want to actually group or categorise them first. Not only because they might not be so easily categorisable (since you can categorise in different overlapping ways), but also due to the time you would have to spend categorising them first. I would like to just tap "that, that, and that" and see how much that sums up to, and then "that, this, and that" to see what that sum is, etc.
And when they are selected, it would of course make sense to be able to do other things with the whole selection, such as "Add to category", "Add label", "Add to group", "Set color", "Delete", etc. So the ability to select several and then performing a function on all of them could have many uses. But dynamically showing the sum (and preferably count too, actually) while selecting (and deselecting) could really be quite useful.
My imagined scenario doesn't quite have a graphical idea of where to display the sum and perhaps count while selecting, nor where the button with the menu with further actions should be (I guess Android has recommendations for action commands, maybe some sort of action bar on top combined with a three-dot menu?), but it would just be so cool to be able to dynamically play with the expenses – and in time easily add to categories etc. too from the selection.
I see that I now expanded my feature request with both count and actions! Sorry about that, but it seems to somehow be connected with selecting several expenses in the list.
@DennisBauer I forgot to tag you on my previous reply; I don't know if that is needed.
@jhertel thank you for the elaboration. I like the idea, including the multi expense actions. Let's keep it in the same fearure request for now.
