Email verification not working

This is a (Bug Report / Feature Proposal)

For bug reports:

• What went wrong? Email verification doesn't seem to work, for my Gmail address I got the email, and clicked on it, yet it claims it's still unverified, and for my Disroot email address, I never got the email...
• What did you expect should have happened? It shouldn't have continued to show "email not verified. Resend link?"
• What was the config you used? Default https://democracy.earth config...?
• What stacktrace or error message from your provider did you see? "Email not verified. Resend link?"

For feature proposals:

• What is the use case that should be solved. The more detail you describe this in the easier it is to understand for us.
• If there is additional config how would it look

You should configure in the app a services like Mailgun. Have you tried that?

Umm, no, as I said this isn't an instance I'm hosting myself... This kinda makes me wonder whether this is the right repo 😅😅
