Address readability in the Abstract

Open stenzer opened this issue 7 years ago • 1 comments

Everyone, I'm really excited about this project. I've been thinking hard about these issues and find so much of value here. I hope to become a contributor, and... well, diving in. My way has tended toward the blunt and matter-of-fact, so let me say... great work! And as I make suggestions, please let me know if my words are ever harsh.

The Abstract is going to be the first thing people read, in many or most cases. I'm finding it to be super dense, full of ideas, and hard to read. An abstract should be a high-level overview, present conclusions, and invite the reader to study & explore the rest of the material. I'd propose rewriting it to be less dense, more inspiring, clearer. Maybe break up the paragraph. Avoid too much enumeration, too many buzzwords. Write it for a non-techie and make it easy to grasp the exciting part.
