Inserted hard drives lose their names

Open Xane123 opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

As the title says, if a hard drive is renamed using the anvil, inserting then removing it from a computer will reset it back to its default name, "Hard Drive (vhd#.vdi)". I assume this is a bug, since I recall base Minecraft had similar cases of things losing their custom names

(Also, I have to ask, is it intentional that the game always shows the VM Computers setup screens when starting Minecraft?)

The setup screens are shown every time, I could just make it save to a file (as its already doing) and not show the screens. To be quite honest with you I don’t know why I didn’t do this already.

Also, for the hard drives, yeah I can fix that.

The current way, where it shows the setup screens every startup, could be helpful if someone wants to change their maximum settings on the last page to make sure they work well for their computer, but yeah, adding an option to remember the selected settings and skip to the "starting VirtualBox" screen would be nice.

Cool! That'll make this awesome mod near-perfect. (I think chat messages about the screen being too big for multiplayer aren't helpful when playing singleplayer. Also, the weird VirtualBox error I see if I start one OS, switch to another hard drive, then reinsert without restarting the game is odd, but that'd be its own GitHub issue.)
