Editing tags

As a user I want to be able to edit tags so that I can fix misspelled and ugly tags.

Is it an idea to be able to not only edit tags freely but also "pick another existing tag" Or some kind of merge function?

@jejote how exactly would you picture that? Not sure if I know exactly what you mean

Edit freely, or pick a tag from a pulldown menu that shows all tags except for the one you're trying to change.

Ah right, that could make sense!

Merging is probably too heavy to do right now, but i was thinking of beeing able to select multiple tags, and change them into one. If a project has multiple given names by different people. One could easily bundle them and rename them for easier reporting.
