Dropped words and sentences in the translation
DeepL API will sometimes drop phrases, sentences, or words in the post translation. I am assuming this issue is already known, but am adding another data point. Feel free to close this issue if it's not needed.
Attached in the top part of the screenshot is the API leaving off "In the early nineteenth century" in the post translation. Interestingly introducing a typo seemed to "fix" the issue, in the bottom portion of the screenshot (numerous -> numberous).

Hey @ELanning can you give me a few more infos about where you experienced that as you seem to refer to the API? Or did you just reproduce this in the web translate for the screenshot?

We have a book reader app, and this chunk was translated by a user with the DeepL API. I reproduced it on the web for the screenshot. Although sometimes the API misses some text, but the web UI doesn't, or vice versa.
I've come across this bug before, but never this bad. I just had a web translation go from 50 lines or so to about 10, and all I did was click to make some translation corrections. It seems that when I make a correction, the first time goes smoothly, but if I make another correction, it starts deleting entire sentences, which I believe were the previously corrected sentences (not always). Losing most of the translation is pretty much a deal breaking bug. I wanted to report it on the deepL website, but all I could find was some tech support contact form, which it wanted me to sign up for pro to access. Sorry, I like your service and may go pro eventually, but not just to help you out with a bug report. You should consider making a bug reporting link on your website, or make it easier to find if it already exists so that people don't come fill up your github since it seems to be the only free way to contact you.
BTW, I was translating English to Japanese. I'm working on translating a research paper, and the AI seems to have a hell of a time translating "et al" when referring to groups of scientists being referred to by the lead scientist's name. It will translate a few of them scattered throughout, but not all of them. It would also translate Japanese names into Japanese characters very inconsistently. I think you should consider making the thumbs down icon ask for a reason why a particular translation is bad, then people could help you better and even put their bug reports there since a bug this big is a good enough reason to say a translation is poor.
Sorry for jumping into this old thread, but it seemed to address an issue similar to my own, and like I said, no other way to contact you.
In the attached screenshot, you can see an entire section I highlighted in English that got removed from the Japanese translation (it should highlight in light blue). There were 2 other sections that had the same thing happen, but you get the idea. Initially it was translated, but after making a few corrections (there are still more to make), it quickly becomes pointless. I can make the corrections in Word and not lose everything.
I honestly hope this helps. I like your service, and I'd like to see it improve.
