Bitrate gets formatted with "%4d" -- i.e. it's always taking 4 chars.

It seems that you have some non-standard / broken font selected for GTK, which is unsuitable for interface use.

Hmm ok, I got this reproduced with default ubuntu font :(

That won't be easy to fix then.

It would be nice to have the option to hide / turn-off / not-display the bitrate altogether, tbh. The ability to customize the status bar display would solve this problem for many people and be a very welcome addition in its own right.
