Dark Souls III not detecting my controller

Hi! I've tried to play Dark Souls III with BetterJoy, but it doesn't recognize my controller. I've tested it in other games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and it works perfectly, how can I solve it? Thanks!

Hi! I've tried it and still not working. It's weird 'cause Dark Souls III is the only game that I can't play

I was having issues with dark souls 2, and assuming they reused controller code this might help:

Disable steam input (force off) then restart the game. Go through the menus using the keyboard and once you're ingame turn off your joycons by holding the screenshot button and the home button for 2 seconds.

Then press L and R to reconnect. This worked for me, but I still don't know why. It's not very consistent.
