I guess the question is for @perler and he should answer on it. For my case I've one combined letsencrypt-certificate for one main-domain and several subdomains but additionally I've certificates...
fyi: letsencrypt allows now wildcard-certificates too

As there seem being some dangers too, depending on hoster, it's better you read the whole pages I linked though instead of posting just the syntax here.
@wiserweb I agree, it's a new situation and perhaps in many cases not advisable. About implementation you know better as I maintain my certs manually.
