Try out being the IO layer for ripgrep?

So, I reading https://itnext.io/modern-storage-is-plenty-fast-it-is-the-apis-that-are-bad-6a68319fbc1a and I was wondering how much https://github.com/BurntSushi/ripgrep could benefit from this (no close relation, I'm just a user). I know glommio is still early alpha, but rg seems like a very practical demonstration of how good the speedups can be?

It's definitely an interesting idea.. I don't know if anyone will have the appetite to drive this but it's definitely a cool idea. I won't speak for anyone else in particular but I'm focused primarily on databases and similar use cases.

So if someone wanted to tackle this it would be pretty cool and I'm sure people would be happy to help along the way..
