@brettlangdon @majorgreys - Not too much activity on this PR in about a year. I was hoping this could get at fixing the atexit issues from #1184

  • Was this just put on the shelf, and all still important to do to address solid multiprocessing and problems like the atexit?
  • Or, is this superseded by multiprocess work/support and fixes elsewhere and has now become obsolete?
