Ability to boot to Clonezilla Server (iPXE)
The problem you're addressing (if any)
We were using Clonezilla Server (via iPXE) without any problems until this was no longer possible since Dasharo version v1.7.1 (NS5x-ADL). With both latest versions, we get a kernel panic error while attempting to boot.
Describe the solution you'd like
We would like to be able to use Clonezilla Server (via iPXE) again without boot problems.
Where is the value to a user, and who might that user be?
Faster delivery times due to automatisation of the deployment of the operating system.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Manual installation with USB pen drives, which is way less efficient.
Additional context
We need to add Clonezilla Server (via iPXE) boot to our test scope. To test it, one would need to set up a Clonezilla Server first.
Do you have a log/photo of this kernel panic
error?
Any suggestion on how we can reproduce the issue? Do you use any specific clonezilla configuration or version?
I was able to reproduce the problem on the NV4x-TGL running Dasharo v1.5.1. Booting to Clonezilla Server (via iPXE) works fine on the same device with Dasharo v1.4.0. Here is a screenshot of where it stucks:

- To reproduce the issue, setup a Clonezilla Server in your internal network: https://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-SE/ . Make sure your Clonezilla server is bootable with an iPXE command by using Dasharo v1.4.0 (TGL) or v1.6.0 (ADL). Then update to Dasharo v1.5.1 (TGL) or v1.7.1 (ADL).
You will see that you will no longer be able to boot to Clonezilla Server with the same iPXE command because of the kernel panic.
Instead of creating your own Clonezilla Server to reproduce the problem, it's way easier to boot to iPXE netboot.xyz
--> Utilities (UEFI) --> Clonezilla --> Clonezilla Debian Based --> Clonezilla 3.1.1-27 Stable. It returns an initramfs error, similar to my local server.
I have also tried the Ubuntu version. In the Ubuntu version, it stucks at: Waiting for ethernet card(s) up ... If this fails, maybe the ethernet card is not supported by the kernel 6.5.0-10-generic?
These problems aren't there with Dasharo v1.6.0.
On Dasharo v1.7.1, I can boot to a live Ubuntu environment using netboot.xyz, though.
We cannot boot into netboot one (both stable and testing) on NV4x ADL 1.6.0, and 1.7.1.
We have agreed that we will keep using the older release that works with the @wessel-novacustom setup, and later this week we will gather more details to reproduce the setup on our side for including it into the test scope.
@macpijan Just a reminder for the upcoming releases. We can take care of testing this.
