DDR5 SPD support in DTS

Open pietrushnic opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

The problem you're addressing (if any)

There is no support for DDR5 SPD support in Linux, and those modules are used in Odroid-H4+; this results in a lack of information in the HCL report.Linux does not support DDR5 SPD

Describe the solution you'd like

Add support for DDR5 SPD.

Where is the value to a user, and who might that user be?

In case of memory issues, users can get a full dump of information about the hardware. We could then support them efficiently.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I remember than this was talked about for the MSI DDR5 versions and the main limitation is that you needed some new Linux driver to read the SPD ROM cause SPD5118 was not supported about two years ago.
