Support for 15-Minute Interval Data (like on smartmeter-web.wienernetze.at)

Open Manuel2030 opened this issue 8 months ago • 9 comments

Hi there 👋

First of all – thanks for this awesome integration! It works great so far 🙌

🧩 What’s the issue?

On the Smartmeter Web Portal, I can see energy consumption data in 15-minute intervals, which is really helpful for tracking live usage patterns throughout the day.

However, in Home Assistant (HA) via this integration, I currently only get the daily summary.

💡 Feature Request:

Would it be possible to extend the integration to fetch and expose the 15-minute interval data as shown on the portal? • Either as a time series sensor (list of 96 values per day) • Or maybe even sum it up hourly in HA from the data (via attributes)

🗣️ Community Interest

A few others are also hoping for this: in the discussions tab :)

✅ Benefits • Way more precise automation (e.g., peak detection) • Beautiful energy graphs in HA with more detail

Let me know if there’s anything I could help with – testing, debug logs, etc.

hourly data is already there - sub-hour data is AFAIK impossible to import with HA, as statistics only support 1h intervals.

@Manuel2030 in order to benefit from the hourly Values you need to activate the 15 minutes interval in the smart meter Portal of Wiener Netze.

Hey, hourly is enough. In my energy dashboard, I only see one large bar for daily power consumption. Can you please tell me how to configure it correctly? Thanks!

Hello, Have you the hourly or 15 minutes interval activated. Does it look like this? And do you see hourly and 15 min intervals in the Portal?

Once this works you need to configure your Home Assistant Energy dashboard. You need to use a specific entity. Please look in the faq:

Let me know what you achieve.

@W-M-B Thanks – that was the issue, really appreciate your help! You’re my hero! 😄

Maybe we could add it to the GitHub intro, either as a common mistake or in the setup guide (if it’s not already mentioned – I might’ve just missed it).

@W-M-B Just a quick follow-up – I activated it 5 days ago and have been testing it daily. I did activate it, but I still don’t see the new entity. -only the old one

I also tried: • Disabling the extension • Logging out and back in • Uninstalling and reinstalling everything

Unfortunately, the entity is still not showing up. Any ideas what else I can try?
