Feature: Vehicle Capture

Open AndrewTheel opened this issue 5 years ago • 3 comments

What capturing means: Capturing an enemy vehicle is logistical. Meaning you don't actually take control of the vehicle. But it rewards logistical benefits to your team.

How capturing works: When you get near an empty enemy vehicle, a indicator on your HUD will appear. Once the progress to capture is completed, the vehicle is "captured" and a smoke screen is spawned. The vehicle will then look destroyed and act like a destroyed vehicle. This is so it doesn't disappear when you are near it.

Why capture an enemy vehicle: Capturing an enemy vehicle will take longer than destroying it (assuming you have the means to destroy the vehicle). However, it rewards your team with reinforcements.

Specifications:

  • [ ] Being near an empty enemy vehicle will allow you to "capture" it
  • [ ] Create HUD indicator (indicating capture progress)
  • [ ] Progress should take about 15 seconds
  • [ ] Create function to handle spawning smoke + "destroying" the vehicle
  • [ ] Reward reinforcements when captured

The vehicle will then look destroyed and act like a destroyed vehicle.

It should look like someone stole the wheels and left it propped up on bricks.

can you allow to operate simple vehicles from the enemy like trucks and armored cars please? realistically there is no reason to not do it, and it probably should be easy to implement
