I tried the OpenZFS port (version v2022021400-zfs_9f734e81f) and it happens with that version as well. Function offsets are slightly different but the function stack is the same.
Oops, I managed to close the bug by mistake..
I have another backup HD and I reproduced it by (accidentally) exporting the pool while the backup was running - the next (and subsequent) runs cause the panic.
I get this too, I find Python 3.8 (from macports if it matters) doesn't exhibit the same issue.
+1 for package idea - I made that modification (in the simplest way - no REs etc) and it seemed quite effective.
This would be great, 100% of my transfers are blind - it's a small office so I never talk to the recipient :D
