Licensing & AUR Repackaging
I am trying to make an Arch Linux user repository package providing Vapour.
It seems no license has been provided, reserving all the rights to the owner.
I am thus asking for permission here to repackage the project. If the permission is granted, what is the license I should use ?
Hey @payolin I just added a license to the repo (I'm surprised I didn't have one already!)
I've personally never published a package to AUR, but ideally I'd like any updates to this project to be automatically published there too. It looks like theres a github action that can do this https://github.com/marketplace/actions/publish-aur-package
If you want to create a PR to support publishing to AUR I'd happily merge it!
One thing to note is that this project only currently builds as an AppImage, but we can easily add .deb support if needed.
I've partially implemented flatpack support but it's not working just yet.
AUR publishing is done externally, so nothing new is needed on this repo ! Here is the link to the package. I've published it under my name and set myself to be the maintainer, so let me know if you want me to put you as the owner/maintener/whoever instead.
