How to run in 'Retina' mode on MacBook Air M1

I was previously using the jeffreywildman version & then had problems re-installing after an upgrade. This used to open in 'retina' mode so the clients that opened through proxmox where running at the retina resolution & I didn't have to use fractional scaling.

This version installs perfectly but seems to open in a native resolution which causes clients to be tiny due to them using the native resolution. I can compensate with fractional-scaling but there is a massive performance hit & I also have to change the scaling when I open the same clients on other laptops without hires displays.

Is there anyway to run this remote-viewer 'respecting' the Retina resolution?
