Mechanical pumps mess up water source blocks

Open Tuonra opened this issue 6 years ago • 1 comments

This isn't an issue per se, but I have scoured wiki's and tutorials and find no help. So the mechanical pump, is it meant to 'generate' water out of source blocks, or is it literally moving water and thus removing water at one end? Because at them moment, for me at least it's trying to do both. I have 4 pumps se up on the corners of a 3x3 pool 1 deep and after about a minute or 2 the pumps shut off (having made about 50 buckets of water) and the pool looks like it's dried up, only a few source blocks and several flowing blocks remaining. but this is an illusion, as using a bucket on the blocks that now look like air yields water and the block update will cause the pool to 'refill' itself. This wouldn't be a problem if the bloody pumps wouldn't stop working because of it, a texture bug I can handle. But I'm playing Project Ozone 3 skyblock and I was hoping this could be my water source. Am I just not using enough source blocks to keep the pumps running smoothly, or should I give up on the idea and just start pumping out of blockheads sinks like everyone else? Thanks in advance, -Tuonra
